How did it go
The BTWIN Riverside 100 is a value-for-money bike perfect for beginner riders who want a comfortable and dependable hybrid bike. It’s an all-steel, lowered geometry and 6-speed bike made for everyday city cycling and weekend rides.
I rode the bike to my usual fortnightly short trips to the market and quick errands in the city. But I was able to cycle around 30 kms to go to Quezon City and back and it performed okay.
Priced at Php 10,700 — this is the entry-level bicycle you are looking for.
It has a wide handlebar that is welded to the stem and make you ride upright on the bike.
It comes with 700x32 gravel tires with double-walled aluminum rims which you can remove with a 15 mm wrench. The 32 mm tires can easily tackle bumpy pavements and go fast and comfortable on flats.
Even with 700 mm tires, you don’t have to worry about standing height as its lowered geometry makes it flexible for many riders.
The stock saddle is also good for short rides in the city. Seat post height can easily be adjusted with its quick release clamp.
The bike has 6-speed grip shifter and with regular proper maintenance, should be a dependable mobility tool.
You can easily expand the range of what the Riverside 100 can do by installing front and rear racks as I have tried it myself. Decathlon has the Elops Front Bike Rack 500, a stylish rack for light and odd-shaped cargo.

The BTWIN Riverside 100 is an enjoyable starter bike for on and off-road riding.
